The Senior Stores Supervisor is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of all stores management practices, policies and procedures to ensure efficient and cost-effective operation of the stores function within a correctional environment.

In this role you will:
Manage the performance appraisal and development of staff in conjunction with other centre managers and develop and foster a working environment which is motivated, productive, and committed to service delivery as well as compliant with quality human resource management.
Manage the day-to-day activities of the Bulk Store including warehousing, procurement, stock control and financial processes.
Maintain high level knowledge of the centre and corporate software systems.
Develop and maintain governance and risk management systems to mitigate operational risks in bulk store service delivery.
Communication with the centre's multi-disciplinary team.
Ensure Workplace Health & Safety compliance for bulk store functions.
Day to day management of contracted services.
The essential requirements for this role are:
Experience in the operation of a Forklift (Not Pedestrian Operated)
Experience in stock taking processes, stock control and warehouse / storage practices and procedures, including those required for hazardous chemicals.
Demonstrated experience in procurement and contract management.
Ability to use judgment, problem solving skills with the ability to apply a range of problem-solving strategies and show initiative in identifying and solving problems both independently and as a team member.
High level written and oral communication skills together with interpersonal skills, including the proven ability to negotiate to achieve difficult and conflicting objectives and liaise, consult, and negotiate with senior staff and other key stakeholders to
resolve service delivery issues.
Knowledge of and ability to apply relevant acts and regulations, policies and procedures.
Strong information technology, including proficiency in using a range of software applications relevant to the role.
Demonstrated planning & organising abilities to ensure tasks are completed within the required deadlines and in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures.
Staff management skills and experience including knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement contemporary human resource management practices.
