About the role:
Join Origin Energy as an Energy Trader and play a pivotal role in optimising our long-term energy portfolio through strategic decision-making in dynamic markets. As part of our team, you'll handle tasks such as gas scheduling, trading in multiple gas markets, and strategically bidding power station output into the electricity spot market. You'll also have the opportunity to shape energy market strategies, mentor junior team members, and provide valuable market insights.

Key responsibilities:
- Manage daily gas nominations and collaborate with internal stakeholders
- Contribute to strategic thinking for gas trading operations, portfolio management, and addressing physical and financial constraints
- Monitor market conditions and devise strategic responses in consultation with management and team members
- Ensure compliance with bidding regulations, meet deadlines, and contribute to system and procedure development for improved efficiency
What will you bring?
We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 3 years of Energy Markets experience, including Energy Trading with Aemo, and a demonstrated understanding of energy market compliance requirements, contracts, and strategy execution. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in market insights, research, and compliance within the dynamic energy industry, along with strong communication skills for informed decision-making and effective implementation. A strong sense of curiosity and enthusiasm to continually learn about the ever-evolving energy market is also highly valued.
