What will you do
- Drive Payroll governance and compliance to support identification and resolution of payroll risks and issues, supporting the delivery of on-time, accurate pay outcomes
- Explore and seek continuous improvement opportunities, and effectively communicate ideas (i.e. recommendations for EA negotiations etc)
- Developing and execute internal Compliance program of works for the end to end payroll activities
- Proactively seek and share payroll related legislative and policy changes, enabling you to prepare and manage these changes within Payroll, as well as educate the team and be a subject matter expert
- Manage all payroll audit requirements
- Manage, prepare and process the company payroll (monthly) in line with schedules
- Oversee Payroll (weekly and fortnightly) to ensure all processes are completed in a timely manner and deadlines are met
- Day to day management of payroll staff
- Prepare termination and redundancy calculations as required
- Handling staff queries regarding payroll and HR
- Leave Liability Reconciliations and monthly journal allocations
The ideal candidate for this Payroll Manager position brings a wealth of experience in managing payroll operations. Your strong knowledge of payroll processes, awards, and EBA's sets you apart from others.. Your excellent organisational skills enable you to meet tight deadlines without compromising on accuracy or detail. Above all else, your strong communication skills make you an effective collaborator with various stakeholders.
- Strong payroll management experience – e.g. a minimum of 5 years’ experience managing teams.
- Well versed in Australian payroll
- Strong knowledge of EBAs and awards
- Ability to mentor, train and lead a team of payroll officers
- A hands-on and proactive attitude to support the payroll team and function
- Experience with projects and process improvement will be highly regarded
