About the role We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Ministry Assistant to oversee ministry and community activities at Wagga Wagga Corps, with the aim of creating Faith Pathways, engaging, journeying and discipling Corps and Community Members. Reporting to the Corps Leader, this is permanent, part-time position (9 hours per week) position based in Wagga Wagga, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with Hay Level 10 (Award Free). You will successfully
  • Provide community activities that meet the needs/demographic of the area in line with TSA values and mission.
  • Support the spiritual development of the members of Wagga Wagga Corps in line with TSA faith statements and Wesleyan theology.
  • Deliver small groups and other Corps activities.
  • Manage budget related to Ministry Worker program.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community members and local stakeholders.
  • Be active and intentional in involvement with the Team.
  • Demonstrate a desire to participate in the Local Mission Plans of the Corps, division and The Salvation Army.
  • Participate and support the local Red Shield appeal campaign for the area and other fundraising activities.
You will have
  • A valid NSW Driver Licence.
  • A valid NSW Working With Children Check.
  • Leadership skills, with an emphasis on volunteers and the community.
  • Experience in a leadership role (highly desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a budget (highly desirable).
  • A commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army.
  • The ability to offer pastoral assistance, to pray and to explain the Christian Gospel.
  • Self motivation, a high level of initiative and a strong work ethic.
  • Sound communication skills (both oral and written) to be able to interact positively with a variety of people.
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
