Come join Camp Quality, a children’s cancer charity that has been bringing positivity, fun and laughter back into the lives of kids impacted by cancer for over 40 years. Our services and programs are free of charge for kids facing cancer (0-15) and their families at every step of the cancer journey.

Every day we hear amazing stories of how Camp Quality has improved the quality of life for kids dealing with the trauma of cancer, or inspiring tales of our supporters raising funds to ensure we can support even more children year on year. The Social Media Coordinator helps tell these stories to the world as part of a team of skilled creatives, marketers and communicators who really love what they do.

About the Role

The Social Media Coordinator is part of our vibrant Marketing and Communications team. You will be developing engaging organic and paid social media content from inside and outside the organisation and will be responsible for managing our social media channels day to day. You will work with teams across the organisation as well as our families and volunteers. A love of storytelling is a must, as well as great social media strategy skills.

Required experience and knowledge

  • 3 years’ experience in a social media / digital marketing role.
  • Experience producing engaging, channel specific (Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Twitter, Youtube) content using software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience using a social media management platform such as Sprout
  • Experience setting up, monitoring and optimising paid social media campaigns from conception to execution, ensuring timelines and objectives are met.
  • Experience identifying social media influencers for campaigns and managing their content contribution and reporting metrics.
  • Proven experience building and nurturing online communities, including addressing inquiries and fostering engagement.
  • A strong understanding of social media strategy and trends.
  • Experience building social media event pages.

Desired experience and knowledge

  • Social media video editing skills, or willingness to learn.
  • Experience coordinating social media coverage for events and live activations.
  • Experience managing content submission processes or similar.
  • Experience monitoring and reporting on media issues on social media and preparing responsive messaging.
  • Experience assisting photo and video shoots and preparing content briefs.

Other requirements for this role:

  • High level written communication skills and understanding of writing in brand voice.
  • Ability to tell compelling stories through content.
  • The ability to communicate effectively internally and externally; ensuring communication with Camp Quality families is timely and approached in a supportive and empathetic manner.
  • Highly organised and adaptable, with the ability to prioritise, meet tight deadlines and successfully coordinate multiple tasks.
  • A demonstrated willingness to work as a collaborative team member.
  • The willingness to adhere to Camp Quality’s WHS plans, policies and procedures.
  • Current driver’s license.
  • Some out-of-hours work may be required.
  • Some inter / intra state travel may be required.
  • Current Working With Children Check.

Qualifications and Training

  • Degree in digital marketing, marketing and communications, or a related discipline.
