The main objective of this role is to spearhead the integration of governance principles into responsible business practices and Financial Accountability (FAR), with the goal of fostering accountable leadership.
You'll be responsible for
  • Leading and offering assistance to the executive team and their respective departments regarding responsible business practices and adherence to accountability requirements outlined in the FAR compliance workplan.
  • Incorporating governance and accountability criteria into risk and governance frameworks, policies, processes, and procedures through collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Facilitating business working groups, including the Executive Steering Group, to ensure effective oversight, decision-making, and agility in achieving objectives.
  • Supporting the design, implementation, and monitoring of the Governance and Accountability Policy, while also overseeing the review and execution of engagement briefing sessions, workshops, and learning and development content aimed at preparing for FAR compliance.
  • Enhancing managing director (MD) and executive accountability structures, including reasonable steps frameworks, maintenance of critical documents, and engagement with key stakeholders and divisions.
  • Interpreting legal, regulatory, and community expectations regarding corporate governance, accountability, and risk management, emphasizing fair customer outcomes and sustainability. Communicating and engaging on Responsible Business Strategy by developing presentations, plans, reports, and workshop materials, offering advice, and nurturing trusted relationships across the enterprise to ensure success.
About you
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, insurance, risk, legal or similar.
  • Extensive experience in a regulatory, legal, governance or risk role preferably in banking or financial services.
  • Experience with local Banking Executive Accountability Regime, FAR preparation or Senior Managers Regime (SMR) (equivalent UK regulation).
  • Highly developed consulting and influencing skills, demonstrating the ability to co-create strategy and valuable analytical solutions with key business stakeholders.
  • Experience in delivering enterprise wide, complex programs of work and ability to work with executives and senior stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant regulatory and legislative compliance requirements in relation to financial services, experience with regulatory change desirable.
