Your new company

Hays Senior Finance is partnering with a Queensland Statutory Body to recruit an AO7 Financial Accountant to join their Brisbane CBD-based team for approximately three months.

Your new role

Working within a wider team, who looks after financial management activities the body and their customers, Financial Statements, Taxation (FBT, Payroll Tax, GST), other statutory reporting as well as providing advice, your duties will include: Co-ordinate and deliver high quality financial accounting and taxation services to internal and external clients through a shared services arrangement, including the preparation of financial statements for multiple clients, maintaining effective tax compliance services for multiple clients, the delivery of financial training and the provision of high level financial accounting and taxation advice. Work collaboratively with other members of the Financial Management Services Branch to provide effective and efficient accounting services. Develop and implement strategies and processes and mentor other staff to ensure the effective operation of customers' and the general ledger in accordance with statutory requirements and generally accepted accounting principles. Provide whole of government financial reporting through the Queensland Treasury's Tridata system Liaise with key government agencies, including Queensland Treasury, the Queensland Audit Office and the Australian Taxation Office regarding complex financial and taxation issues affecting the agency and other Customer agencies.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will have experience in:

• Preparation of financial statement for multiple clients
• Provision of high level financial accounting and taxation advice
• Be able to provide whole of government financial reporting through the Queensland Treasury's Tridata system for the agency and Customers.
