APG is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Tradesperson for a 12 Month contract within a Port Macquarie Government Sector.
$47.89 per hour + Super

Hours of work: 38 Per Week
Primary purpose of the role
The role will safely undertake a range of duties to maintain and repair plant items, vehicles and mechanical equipment.
Key accountabilities
- Safely undertake a range of duties to maintain and repair plant items, vehicles and mechanical equipment.
- Perform a wide range of routine and complex labouring/ manual tasks, including the use of a variety of small plant and powered and non-powered hand tools, to assist with the completion of work activities.
- Work is completed under limited supervision and may be done in a team environment or independently.
- Conduct safety checks on all plant used, complete basic maintenance such as refueling and checking fluid and maintain records and reports to ensure the safe use of plant items
- Solve routine problems that arise, referring to standard guidelines and manuals and collaborate with
- supervisors and managers to resolve complex problems to ensure risks are minimised and work goals are achieved.
- Provide guidance to team members, including apprentices/trainees, leading the work output of a small unit as required, to develop capability and ensure team tasks are completed effectively.
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
- Current Construction Industry White Card.
- Current unrestricted NSW motor vehicle driver's license.
- Willingness to undertake any legislated or internal licensing or ticketing requirements as directed.
- Candidates must have a MVRIC license.
- Candidates must have (or willing to obtain within their first month) a MR license.
- It is desirable if they have a boat license or plant mechanic experience
