About The Role
Located on the Murray Valley Highway, a little over 200 km north of Melbourne, nestled on the Murray River and surrounded by irrigated dairy farms and orchards, this picturesque town of Strathmerton is the home to one of our large Bega Cheese plants.
The Maintenance Electrician will report to the Reliability Supervisor and will be responsible for providing electrical maintenance support for site operations. This includes breakdowns, maintenance, and improvement requirements. The electrician should be able to provide innovative solutions and perform equipment tests per the established quality, safety, and environmental standards and procedures to eliminate defects.
The incumbent is expected to work rotational shifts in a four-on-four off-shift pattern and should be flexible enough to adjust accordingly.
Responsibilities
- Quickly troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and systems to perform emergency repairs and perform corrective and preventive maintenance, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential delays caused by electrical maintenance issues to enhance workforce productivity and prevent issues before they occur.
- Collaborate effectively with the mechanical/automation trades on shift to develop and implement sustainable solutions to production issues.
- Continuously seek to improve processes and participate actively in various projects to drive operational excellence.
- Adhere to engineering and safety standards while performing tasks and take necessary measures to develop and implement safe systems at work, ensuring a safe working environment for all.
About you
- Fully licensed electrician with similar experience in an FMCG /manufacturing environment
- Experience/knowledge of Allen Bradley and Siemens industrial automation systems is highly valued.
- Ability to communicate and willing to work as part of a team
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
