About the role
This is a permanent , full-time , Monday to Friday 7.00 am to 4.00 pm position working 38 hours per week. This position is located at the Bomaderry Works Depot, Bomaderry .

Duties
Reporting directly to the Team Supervisor – Central Construction, the focus of this position is to:

  • Ensure the work area’s compliance with relevant legislation and Council policies and ensure that risks are managed.
  • Undertake Risk Management inspections of Council’s assets using electronic mobile devices as required.
  • Assist in Council responses to emergencies and other operational needs, including being available for ‘call back’.
  • Undertake a variety of tasks such as landscaping installation, maintenance works, cleaning, hand digging, mulching, mowing operations, tree pruning, park maintenance, litter collection, irrigation systems maintenance and installation with the ability to work on above ground platforms and ladders, fencing and traffic control for various parks works.
  • Undertake manual tasks including but not limited to shoveling, screeding, raking, digging, lifting and traffic control.


    On call – Being available to be on-call and complete reasonable overtime is a requirement of this position.

    Skills & Experience
    To be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

  • School Certificate or equivalent.
  • Certificate III in Horticulture or Arboriculture or Turf Management or Nursery Practice or Commercial Cleaning or equivalent.
  • Current National WHS Construction Card (WorkCover).
  • MR Licence or commitment to obtain MR Licence as soon as practicable as needed to meet operational requirements.
  • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa)
