We have an opportunity for a highly analytical individual to join our Revenue Management team as an Inventory Analyst. This interesting and diverse role will see you responsible for achieving revenue, yield and seat factor targets for your defined set of flights, managing groups and overbooking profiles, analysing flight performance for risks or opportunities, and providing inputs into the Revenue Management systems. The key objective is setting optimal booking class availability, which determines the selling price on the managed portfolio of flights, to deliver revenue maximisation via Revenue Management systems. The Inventory Analyst role will monitor and analyse competitor inventory and pricing activity, determine and take actions on inventory settings as required, coordinating with Demand Forecasting and Pricing team members accordingly. This role will also be working with multiple different business units including Operations, Airports, Sales, Network, Communications and Jetstar, thus will give you great exposure as well as an opportunity to have a direct impact on Qantas revenue. To be successful in this role, you will have –
  • Prior experience in a Commercial Aviation role, or Degree qualification in Aviation Management, Business, Finance, Statistics, Engineering or similar quantitative discipline.
  • Sound knowledge of revenue maximisation concepts and systems, sales practices and airline tariffs.
  • Highly numerate with proven analytical ability including trend analysis and manipulation of data.
  • Passion for the aviation industry and detailed understanding of the competitive operating environment for airlines, including demand, revenue and cost drivers.
  • Advanced skills with Excel and PowerPoint; Familiarity with Macros and SQL would be beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with focus on collaboration, co-operation and communication.
  • Exceptional time management skills, with proven ability to juggle conflicting priorities.
  • Demonstrated decision making ability and able to evaluate impact of change at a detailed level.
  • Desire to be part of a winning team with matching work ethic and energy level.
