About Us
The Fast Forward Project Officer will assist in the implementation of Western Sydney University programs and initiatives aimed at raising aspirations of high school students to attend University and will plan, develop, deliver and evaluate the “Fast Forward” program.

About the role
The primary role of the Project Officer is to increase participation levels in Higher Education of students from targeted equity groups. The Future Student Engagement Project Officer, Fast Forward prepares and monitors work plans, organises and runs program-related events, presentations and activities, liaises with internal and external stakeholders, gathers and compiles program and participation data, registrations, researches best practice and innovative approaches, and writes reports and briefings. The Future Student Engagement Project Officer, Fast Forward contributes to promotional and information materials and helps to develop evaluation frameworks and mechanisms.

The Project Officer will also supervise student ambassadors, on program activity days, to work collaboratively with other community groups and/or education providers to assist the University to meet its objectives under widening participation.

The Project Officer works alongside a team of Project Officers and Project Support Officers and reports to, the Senior Project Officer, Fast Forward. The Project Officer has regular and essential contact with the wider community, particularly schools, and may also represent Future Student Engagement in internal forums and assist with external stakeholder management across Greater Western Sydney primary and secondary school and community networks, community groups and NGO’s.

Activities will take place both within Future Student Engagement and more broadly in the University. This environment will suit a hands-on professional who is a team player, can successfully take on multiple challenges and be adaptable to change. Applicants will be required to operate across different campuses and schools across the Greater Western Sydney Region, and be willing to work collaboratively in the interest of achieving demanding deadlines and common program goals. The team works closely with colleagues across the educational spectrum in order to create positive change.

Applications are welcome from people who have had relevant experience engaging with young people from diverse backgrounds. This role will require adept engagement and presentation skills, relationship building skills and excellent customer service skills. In addition, the successful applicant will have a good understanding of the principles of social justice, excellent research, analytical and conceptual skills and well developed communication skills - oral, interpersonal, written and computer mediated.

Working with Children Check:
It is a mandatory requirement for any incumbent of this position to have a current NSW Employee Working with Children Clearance in accordance with the NSW Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
