ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you a dedicated and compassionate Nurse ready to take your career to the next level? We're looking for exceptional Defence Force Recruiting (DFR) Nurse Officers to play a vital role in shaping the future of the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
This Full-Time position will allow the successful candidate will be required to undertake face-to-face training in a DFR Sonic HealthPlus Clinic. You will be required to work 3 days in our Hay Street Clinic and 2 days in our Osborne Park Clinic.
DUTIES
As a Nurse Officer, you will be a cornerstone of our team, responsible for the pre-screening (vetting) of the candidate Medicate Health Questionnaire (MHQ) to ascertain suitability for a career in the Australian Defence Force (ADF). The conduction of preliminary assessments may also be required. Your role will primarily encompass:

  • Conduct telephone vetting by:
    • Reviewing online medical history questionnaires
    • Extract additional information through telephone calls with DFR candidates while taking notes in the online medical records system
    • Medical file reviews
    • Archive record identification and requests
    • Extant report requests as needed
    • Follow established policy and procedures within a well-defined Defence framework

The following secondary duties may be required:

  • Ensuring all preliminary assessment information is entered accurately into the electronic health record
  • Monitoring and maintaining equipment used during preliminary assessments

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
As the successful candidate, you will be a Registered Nurse with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) together with the following:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • An 'eye' for detail
  • Ability to navigate electronic health records/systems and other relevant ICT systems
  • Minimum 3 years' broad medical experience in a health system comparable to Australia
  • Current Working With Children Check
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAD009) certification.
