Henley Brook Primary School (PS) is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced upper primary teacher to join our team in 2024.
Our school opened in January 2024 with approximately 200 students from within the rapidly growing suburbs of Brabham and Henley Brook (located in the Swan Valley, near Whiteman Park). At the heart of our foundation school, is our motto; Connect, Belong, Thrive, because when students feel connected to their teachers, and parents feel a connection with the school, students are best positioned to thrive.
The Leadership Team is seeking to add a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher to our foundation team. The successful applicant will ideally be committed to building a culture of excellence through collaboration and connection. As we are a brand-new school, the successful applicant should be flexible, solutions-focused, trustworthy, adaptable and possess an openness and capacity for learning as we continue to build our school culture from the ground up.

We provide innovative and engaging learning experiences, which promote individual excellence and develop social responsibility. We aim to support the social, emotional and academic growth of each student through evidence-based practices, supportive learning environments and a strong pastoral care approach focused on student well-being. Clear routines and structures should be established quickly, to ensure every student feels safe, secure and supported.
High performing learning communities consistently use evidence-based teaching and learning practices that prioritise the reflective use of data and embedded differentiation to support all students. Teachers at Henley Brook PS adopt high impact teaching strategies and use ongoing formative assessment to provide feedback to students at the point of error, measure student progress, differentiate teaching and plan next steps in learning. The Science of Learning underpins our instructional framework which includes daily reviews and is built around the principles of Cognitive Load Theory. Explicit instruction of core knowledge and skills is our signature pedagogy. This is further supported by providing our students with opportunities to consolidate and deepen their knowledge through a range of rich learning experiences.
The successful applicant should be committed to reflective teaching practices through active participation in a culture of professional growth. This will include coaching, classroom observation and feedback, as well as commitment to their own professional learning to ensure they maintain and build on contemporary, evidence-based approaches. The Henley Brook PS teaching team engage with and contribute to whole school, phase of learning and curriculum teams as we work to embed and strengthen our whole school approach to teaching and learning. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.
