METAL FABRICATOR / WELDER

Comprehensive salary package from $70,000pa (plus superannuation)

About The Role

On behalf of our client, Global Skilled Employment services is currently seeking skilled and qualified Metal Fabricator/Welder who can produce high quality work and can work unsupervised.

The business specialises in creating silos, trailer feeder, tunnel shelters, and providing solutions to enhance farm safety.

Required Skills And Experience

• AQF Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication or equivalent
• At least 3 years recent relevant work experience
  
  

Duties Includes

• Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
• Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
• Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
• Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
• Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
• Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
• Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
• Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
• Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding
  
  

Other Required Skills

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Work experience in relevant industry and building all types of steel, aluminium and stainless steel is a good advantage.
