Advanced Child Protection Practitioner.

This is a great opportunity to launch your career in Child Protection with the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH).

Our core objective is to establish a safe and stable family environment.

As an Advanced Child Protection Practitioner (CPP4) with DFFH you will help to make meaningful contributions to the safety of children who are at potential risk of neglect or abuse.

In this role you will combine your welfare or social work qualifications and experience in a supportive and hard-working team who share a common goal to make a difference.

At the Advanced level you will have the opportunity to drive your own cases and work with others, as you share your expertise and your meticulous reporting skills across the team portfolio.

This is your opportunity to gain an excellent grounding across the entire child welfare process, dealing with a variety of complex matters from beginning to end, you will also be changing the immediate future of at-risk children and their families.

Key accountabilities (this is a summary, please view the PD for a detailed depiction)

  1. Critical Assessment and Reflection
    Engaging in risk assessment and analysis as well as case management, reporting and engaging in reflective practice.
  2. Engaging Others
    Engaging with children, their families and support networks. Collaborating with other practitioners and services and sharing knowledge.
  3. Delivering Results
    Problem solving, making informed practice decisions, delivering improvements, and managing budgets to achieve best outcomes.
  4. Leading and Inspiring
    Providing practice leadership to families and stakeholders, leading and developing colleagues and working to improve the existing systems in the DFFH.

COVID 19 Vaccination

The department strongly recommends (but does not mandate) that employees maintain their COVID-19 vaccination status in accordance with current ATAGI (Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation) advice , given their individual circumstances.
