This clinic is dedicated to managing moderate to severe kidney disease in the western region of Cape York, serving the community of Weipa and the Indigenous communities of Napranum, Mapoon, Aurukun, Pormpuraaw and Kowanyama.

Professional and personal qualities TCHHS are looking for;
- Demonstrated skill in trauma management, general and emergency medicine.
- Demonstrated ability in Chronic Disease management, specifically in chronic kidney disease and associated co-morbidities.
- Ability to function in a multidisciplinary team and to provide clinical leadership within the team.
- Demonstrated ability in addressing the challenges of rural and remote medicine and the care of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population.

Requirements for the role:
- Hold a Rural Generalist advanced skill of Adult Internal Medicine
- Candidates who have completed an AST/ARST in Adult Internal Medicine and are currently completing a FACRRM or FRACGP as part of the Australian General Practice Training Program may be considered for employment as a Provisional SMO.
- Hold registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medial Board of Australia.
