Service Technician - Renewable Power Systems

THE ROLE Our client needs to bring on two Service Technicians to keep up with client demand. You’ll be joining a tight-knit team of engineers and technicians who design and build protection / control / SCADA systems for the Renewable power industry, primarily commercial/industrial PV solar and batteries. You’ll be responsible for

• Testing and configuring equipment
• Assisting in the design & programming of the control systems
• Creating design documents & schematics
• Configuring PLCs & protection relays
• Remote support and site travel for commissioning or fault-finding activities

ABOUT YOU Bring with you, your desire to help design renewable generation systems, such as solar farms, hospital battery systems, and micro-grid/off-grid sites and your knowledge of electrical protection and across the AS3000 / 3008 standards. You will also have the following skills and attributes:

• Electrical trade license and / or electrical engineering degree
• Experience in power systems and embedded generation (gensets, PV Solar, Batter Inverter Systems)
• Reading and drafting electrical schematics (AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical)
• Electrical and controls troubleshooting and fault finding skills
• Experience with FAT / SAT / protection relays / breaker settings / overcurrent
• Experience with stand alone (off-grid) and / or microgrid (islandable) power systems
• PLC Programming skills – Schneider / Modicon / Saitel / Pro-face
• Exposure to MODBUS, DNP3.0 and / or IEC61850 protocols
