Total remuneration package $185,650, includes a base salary of $165,183 p.a plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

At TAFE NSW, we are dedicated to life-changing impact.

That’s why we offer world-class training and education that delivers the skills needed for the jobs of today and tomorrow.

Life-changing impact starts with an incredible team that sees their career as an opportunity to transform someone’s world. Whether that’s inspiring students, supporting each other, or helping our communities and industries flourish.

We live by TAFE NSW values: Customer First, Integrity, Collaboration, and Excellence. They define who we are, how we work and inspire our performance.

We invest in our people

At TAFE NSW, you will discover a diverse, dynamic, and collaborative environment, where you can innovate, create value, and do meaningful work.

We provide you with tools and ongoing training and professional development, health and wellbeing programs, a 38-hour working week with a variety of flexible working options.

About the role

Join our growing team as one of our Lead Product Designer and play a vital role in bringing design ideas to life across TAFE NSW products and services. Your job is all about creating seamless and intuitive experiences for both students and staff, consistent with our Design Library.

You’ll spend a significant amount of your time embedded within diverse TAFE NSW product or project teams. As well as bringing your creative smarts, you will also guide, mentor, and inspire your members to adopt our design principles and ways of working that will set the stage for delivering great experiences for 300,000 students and 17,000 staff. Your role will span the end-to-end design lifecycle, from discovery, ideation and implementation to review and integration.

Outside of the embedded team commitment, you’ll hang out with the wider design team, collaborating on joint projects, solving problems together, and swapping ideas and stories that will all contribute to an evolving and relaxed design group.

We have a temporary full-time opportunity available until 31st March 2025.

About You

You are a self-motivated leader with strong team instincts and a knack for bringing together disparate and complex viewpoints and objectives in a constructive and easy-going manner. You are just as happy leading as you are getting on the tools to solve the problem. You will be energised by finding the path to those solutions that empower our users and you’ll be excited about bringing your colleagues along on that journey.

You are self-driven, curious and care deeply about the customers you serve. You enjoy trusting relationships, mentoring, and collaborating. You are also analytical, organised and a natural problem solver.
