The Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Board (HFLB) believes participation of First Nations as leaders in caring for Country is vital to the successful management of Yerta/Ruwe. This role seeks to build strong and enduring relationships with First Nations and bring an understanding of First Nations interests, issues and/or concerns as they relate to Country in the Hills and Fleurieu region. The First Nations Partnerships Officer is responsible for facilitating First Nations active participation in relation to relevant natural resource activities. This role provides expert advice regarding Aboriginal engagement; to develop and implement projects and ensure meaningful First Nations input to strategic landscapes programs. This position works closely with Kaurna, Peramangk and Ngarrindjeri organisations and communities.   • This position is located in Mount Barker, with flexible working arrangements negotiable.
  • A current Driver’s Licence is essential.
  • Some out of hours work may be required.
  • All staff are encouraged to wear the appropriate uniform in any public setting to represent the Hills and Fleurieu region in a professional manner.
  • This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. By applying for this role you consent to being screened under the process of obtaining a National Police Clearance (NPC), and to the Board requiring you to obtain an NPC.
  • The incumbent may be required to participate in fire management or associated duties
  • Australian residency or current work permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
Contract
  • Full-time, 37.5 hours per week for 2 years
