Darling Range Sports College (SC) is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Program Coordinator - Pathways and Performance to join their leadership team.

The successful applicant will provide strategic educational leadership through coordinating Vocational, and Career Education Curriculum, and development of alternative pathways and partnerships.

The successful applicant will ideally be a strong leader who has knowledge of Vocational Education and Training, School Curriculum and Standards Authority requirements, university and Technical and Further Education requirements and departmental systems.

Experience with Pathway and Transition planning for high school students is desired. The successful applicant should be an inspirational leader, able to provide direction to teachers, students, and parents, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

This is a new position and, as such, the successful applicant should create and share a vision of what will be a key role within the school.

The ability to work closely with students, parents, and outside businesses and agencies will be strongly desired. Advantageous to this will be the proven ability to create and nurture outstanding relationships with students, parents, staff, further education institutions, and local businesses.

Ideally, the successful applicant will have experience in making evidence-based decisions and a proven ability to use data to ensure student pathways at Darling Range SC are relevant for all our students.

Our student body includes those from diverse, multicultural backgrounds and students who are accepted into our academic extension (ACES) program.

The successful applicant will work with all students, and other stakeholders, in tracking academic performance, whilst guiding students towards their most appropriate pathway.

Effective classroom management is critical in this role.

Darling Range SC provides sporting programs in AFL, Athletics, Baseball, Basketball, Netball, Soccer, Swimming, Triathlon and Rugby.

Complementing our sporting programs are extensive opportunities to participate in the Academic Challenge and Enrichment Program ACES’, the Music Program, the Vocational Educational Program and the Arts Program.

The role will likely include a teaching component of up to 0.4 FTE dependant on the business needs of the College.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment.

This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements :

  • Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;
  • High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
  • Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.

g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).

Capacity to manage physical and financial resources.
