ABOUT THE ROLE:


Summary of the role: To work collaboratively with the Deputy Program Director/s to provide contemporary and high quality psychiatric care to patients of the delegated stream of Mercy Mental Health. This role also provides strong medical leadership to the program to ensure high quality clinical practices, and actively contributes to the leadership of the broader Mental Health Service.

Full Time (days / hours negotiable) - based at Clare Moore Inpatient Unit at Werribee Mercy Hospital, but required to work across MMHWS.
Medical Oversight of Bed Based and Perinatal Services across MMHWS.
In conjunction with relevant operational managers contributes to the preparation and implementation of strategic, quality and business plans for the program to ensure that the program meets its quality, efficiency and financial objectives.
Provides professional leadership for all staff (including junior medical staff and consultant psychiatrists) in program areas of responsibility.

ABOUT YOU:

Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent ;
Specialist Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) ;
You will have well-developed leadership skills and experience in leading a team within a Recovery Oriented Mental Health Services framework ;
Prior experience in a medical leadership role in the Public Mental Health Service system will be of benefit

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

Provide a current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check (Mercy Health may conduct additional background checks subject to current legislation).
Proof of vaccination status consistent with public health orders and with Mercy Health’s policy (includes but is not limited to COVID-19 and seasonal influenza vaccination compliance requirement).
Employment with Mercy Health is subject to satisfactory background checks which can include Police Record Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
