About the Neonatal Services at Mercy Hospital for Women:

We are leaders in newborn intensive and special care in Australia. Our Neonatal Services, with 61 cots, caters to over 1500 newborns annually, making us one of Victoria's largest providers. We're renowned for delivering the highest quality care with exceptional patient outcomes. We care for neonates from 22 weeks gestation, requiring acute intensive care and stabilisation and transfer of newborns requiring surgery.

A Collaborative Approach:

Our strength lies in multidisciplinary teamwork, we have an open-plan unit that allows for collaboration and support at all times. We offer numerous opportunities for career growth in nursing and research. Working in conjunction with our Tertiary Maternity Service, state retrieval service (PIPER), and the state's surgical centres, we provide immediate stabilisation and long-term care for newborns with complex conditions.

Our neonatal multidisciplinary care team pride ourselves on our positive culture that is driven through teamwork, respect and a passion for delivery of safe and quality care whilst partnering with the families in our care.

About the Role:

As a Registered Nurse in NICU, you will be responsible for direct patient care of newborns admitted into our service. With the use of state of the art equipment and best practice you will provide intensive care support for newborns requiring various modes of ventilation, multi-organ support, nutrition and developmental care and integrating family centrered care.

Mercy Hospital for Women is a fully accredited Level 6 Public Specialist Teaching Hospital providing both public and private patient care through maternity services, neonatology and paediatrics, perioperative services, gynaecology, women's health and associated health, support and diagnostic services. We are a major teaching hospital and specialist referral centre with the medical, nursing, midwifery and allied health expertise to treat the most complex obstetric, neonatal and gynaecological cases.

What you will need:
