Position Title: Registered Nurse - Ward 6A
Classification: RN G2 Y2-Y9
Salary per hour (exc. super): $36.10 - $48.27
Hours per fortnight: up to 80
Employment Status: Permanent Part time/ Full time

Role Description

The team is part of Bendigo Health’s Acute Ambulatory and Critical Care Stream. Ward 6A comprises of two units which work together to provide access to care for patients requiring a short admission to hospital.

The Short Stay Observational Unit (SSOU) admits approximately 8,000 patients each year and is staffed by a dedicated team of professionals including emergency medicine specialist doctors, nurses and clerical staff. The SSOU actively supports patient flow through the Emergency Department by providing targeted care for patients requiring short-term hospitalisation (more than 4 hours of care but no longer than 24 hours) and who are on a defined pathway to discharge.

The Assessment and Treatment Unit (ATU) is a mixed medical/surgical unit that provides access to care for patients requiring a length of stay of no more than 72 hours. The primary cohort of patients consist of those requiring cardiac care, both medical and surgical management. Patients are cared for by their respective inpatient speciality team and have a defined pathway to discharge. The unit staffs a three bed complex care unit.

The Team

The Clinical Operations Division encompasses acute, allied health, cancer and mental health services. We provide a wide range of general medical, surgical and specialty services including but not limited to; Oncology, Cardiology, Renal, Emergency, Women’s and Children’s, Critical Care, Specialist Clinics, Cancer Clinics and Mental Health Services. Our Allied Health teams provide a diverse range of programs and person centred care in inpatient, outpatient, community, home and residential care settings.
