Your new role

As QBE's new General Manager - LMI you will be responsible driving sustainable and profitable growth for QBE's market-leading national Lenders Mortgage Insurance business. This is a senior, strategic leadership role leading a national team and reporting to our Managing Director of Consumer. As GM LMI you'll work closely with senior stakeholders to evolve our LMI proposition and ensure a seamless customer experience.

Critical to this role is translating strategy into tangible action plans, appropriately allocating resources in alignment with our customer and partner needs, while driving towards QBE's financial objectives.

As General Manager - LMI you will be responsible for policy, process, and procedures within the LMI business, championing the application and integration of QBE's Risk Management framework. Additionally, you will cultivate enduring partnerships, expanding QBE's LMI market presence while ensuring alignment with evolving consumer demands and competitor landscape.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Lead the delivery of the plan and ensure resources are aligned to the strategy, our customers/partners and financial targets.

  • Generate profitable performance - challenge our processes, drive engagement through platform development management and integration, creating efficiency across the business.

  • Oversee the continuous improvement of services delivered to the business to ensure the function continues to develop and best support business objectives.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to communicate updates to and changes in strategy.

  • Continue to develop market relevant offerings to further grow and expand LMI's footprint.

  • Collaborate across the business to ensure HCD, data and analytics is input into business decisions and projects.

  • Partner with QBE's insights teams to incorporate meaningful data driven MD business decisions.

  • Lead, coach and inspire QBE's national Lenders Mortgage Insurance team.

About you

This is an opportunity for an experienced LMI/credit/mortgage industry leader with a strong financial background and exposure working at the C-suite Board level. The successful candidate will be a strong negotiator, networker, and have the right mindset to continually evolve the LMI business model in light of a changing environment.

Ideal skills and competencies:

  • Capital Management and banking expertise preferred.

  • Significant knowledge of products and concepts relating to the Financial Services Industry.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements within the Financial Services Industry.

  • Superior business acumen and a strong commercial lens.

  • Knowledge of home loan products (ideally LMI) will be highly regarded.
