Your role:

The Financial Business Systems team maintains the overall integrity of the department's core finance system and partners with business areas across the department to develop and deliver innovative best practice solutions for finance functional areas. With five direct reports, reporting to the Executive Director, Financial Services, Finance, Procurement and Facilities Division, you will lead the development and implementation of system priorities and initiatives for the financial business systems platform. You'll have responsibility for service delivery support and management, based on a support delivery framework across a range of financial management and financial business system functions.

In this role you will develop strategies, policies and procedures to increase the quality and efficiency of system and business support, and advise on and deliver improved business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have experience working closely with suppliers, partners, business units and wider stakeholders, with the ability to build strong relationships. You will have a natural flair for complex analysis, with the ability to provide high-level advice to senior management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide expert operational, functional and strategic advice and support to the Department.
  • Develop and implement systemic priorities to achieve exemplary organisational outcomes.
  • Steer the strategic function whilst leading an exceptionally skilled team.
  • Oversee complex analysis and provide high level advice to senior management to support the delivery of system and business process support services and the identification of continuous improvement opportunities for a range of solutions including SAP, Infor, SAPA, School Budget Solution, e-commerce solutions and related environments across the organisation to support departmental strategies and outcomes.
  • Ensure that a Financial Business Systems Register is maintained which identifies all finance related solutions being utilised in the department, and ensures that risks associated with these are managed effectively.
  • Support and maintain an effective and efficient tactical and operational system to support delivery of financial, procurement and asset management objectives.
  • Build strong relationships and develop strategies, policies and procedures to increase the quality and efficiency of system and business support to customers and identify improvement opportunities.
