If you're looking for an opportunity to support international students successfully navigate their International Student Program in a state secondary school in the inner Western Suburbs of Brisbane, this role is for you. Kenmore State High School is looking for a motivated individual to assist international students to engage with and complete their study program, ensuring a successful and rewarding schooling experience. This is a temporary part-time position (30 hours per fortnight or 0.41FTE) for a period of 6 months, unless otherwise determined.

Kenmore State High School is an Independent Public School of approximately 2000 students in the Western suburbs of Brisbane. About the Role:

As the International Student Coordinator you will:

  • Manage and Coordinate high quality and responsive service delivery and welfare support to international students
  • Contribute to the provision of a successful experience for each international student at the school and the enhancement of Queensland's reputation as a provider of quality education programs.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Effectively managing databases covering a range of international student details.
    Assisting with the development, coordination and implementation of a successful orientation program.
  • Monitoring ongoing welfare, program adjustments, behaviour, and the health of international students, and managing-up to your supervisor as required.
    Identifying and facilitating access to support services, to assist with the adjustment to living and studying in Queensland and resolving issues which could impede successful completion of studies.
  • Managing systems relating to recording student absences and relaying academic reports to parents.
  • Ensuring compliance with DoE and EQI policies and procedures and participating in training offered by the school and EQI.

Highly desirable skills and experience;

  • The ideal applicant will have excellent written and oral communication skills, great time management skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. The ability to provide quality support to students and staff, and a high level of experience with the Microsoft Office suite.
