How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne…
The City Property Branch is responsible for commercial and management of Council's property which consists of property and leasing, facilities management, and asset management.
The branch leads the development and management of key strategic relationships with Council's stakeholders, land owners and tenants, facility operators and State agencies and authorities. It plays a leading role in the ongoing management of Council-wide projects affecting environmental and social sustainability, city infrastructure and capital works.
The Senior Project Coordinator will be responsible for planning and executing asset management renewal projects, innovative energy programs and initiatives, including the Power Melbourne battery initiative to the ensure all building regulations and standards are adhered whilst aligning to council goals and objectives.
The role is accountable for the development and delivery of assigned projects, and will support the effective collaboration of design and project management delivery within the Facilities Management, City Projects, City Design, Climate Change and City Resilience teams to ensure project vision and objectives are maintained.
What you will bring…(Selection Criteria)
All CoM employees will demonstrate an ability to articulate and demonstrate benefits of positive culture and values. In addition, the position will require:
- A relevant tertiary qualification to degree level in project management and/or related field such as building, architecture, planning, landscape architecture, urban design or engineering or equivalent experience.
- Experience in project management delivery including development and management of high value, complex projects in a large and diverse organisation with multiple stakeholders.
- Proven ability to concurrently manage multiple projects on time, to budget and to client satisfaction within a structured reporting framework.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and a demonstrated understanding of standard forms of construction contracts and building industry practices.
- Proven ability to manage a project team of external consultants and contractors ensuring high level performance and taking decisive corrective action when necessary.
- Highly developed analytical, lateral thinking and problem solving skills and the ability to take the initiative, drive change and continual improvement.
