Alfred Health Acute Physiotherapy Service
Alfred Health's Acute Physiotherapy Service provides physiotherapy services to the patients of The Alfred and Sandringham Hospital. Alfred Health's Acute Physiotherapy Service is the amalgamation of The Alfred Physiotherapy Department and the Sandringham Hospital Physiotherapy Department. The Acute Physiotherapy Service is organised into five functional streams, namely: Intensive Care, Musculoskeletal, Respiratory, PAN (Progressive Illness, Aged Care and Neurosciences), and Sandringham. The first four streams are located at The Alfred site, with the fifth and latter stream based at the Sandringham site.
Position Summary
As a Senior Physiotherapist in our Lung Transplant Service you would be responsible for the physiotherapy needs of all patients in The Alfred Lung Transplant Service, including pre-transplant, acute post transplant and long term survivorship. You will work autonomously with patients, as well supporting patient physiotherapy requirements as part of the lung transplant multidisciplinary clinical team. This position would be professionally supported through The Alfred Physiotherapy Department.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Essential
- Physiotherapist registered to practice in Victoria (APHRA)
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge and skills in the provision of physiotherapy services in areas of physiotherapy relevant to the Lung Transplant Service
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
Desirable
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills related to management of common musculoskeletal problems
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills around exercise prescription in chronic respiratory diseases
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills of oxygen and airway clearance therapy
