About the Position
As a Student Success Adviser, you will join a new team supporting student success at CDU. Under the guidance of a Senior Adviser, you will support a range of initiatives designed to support our commencing students as they learn to navigate university systems, understand expectations, and overcome the challenges associated with commencing, or recommencing tertiary studies. You will provide tailored and proactive support to students via phone, and through in person, and virtual consultations. You will also deliver presentations and workshops to groups of students. You will approach this role with enthusiasm and empathy and be open to trialling new ways of working – always placing student success at the centre of your activities.

About You
To be successful, you will require:

  • Completion of a degree or Advanced Diploma Qualification with at least one year’s subsequent relevant work experience.
  • A proven track record in delivering a high level of customer service and ability to manage multiple projects with competing demands.
  • Demonstrated capacity to understand university structures, academic requirements and higher education policy and procedures.
  • A genuine desire to help students complete their academic journey.
  • Proven administrative, organisational and time management skills with the ability to apply judgment to adapt to a constantly changing work environment.
  • High level capability in the use of computers systems including Student Management Systems, word processing, spreadsheets, email, Customer Relationship Management systems, Records Management systems and the use of social media.
  • Demonstrated ability to positively resolve problems and ability to provide interpretation and advice about relevant policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative, assume responsibility for tasks and projects and to resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated high level professional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate in a culturally sensitive manner with students, and other internal and external stakeholders to whom English may not be the first language.
  • Demonstrated high level administrative skills using initiative and drive with the ability to follow established procedures and deliver quality customer service.
  • Proven experience engaging in effective and proactive teamwork recognizing the abilities of others and utilizing co-operative approaches.
  • An aptitude for problem solving, including the ability to take ownership of complex problems and see them through to completion.

Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at Professional level 5. The base salary will be in the range of $72,061 to $83,249 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $84,311 to $97,401 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
