Job description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated professional to establish and lead the Head to Health Kids multidisciplinary team in North West Tasmania.

The Department of Health is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for a Clinical Lead - Head to Health Kids - CAMHS (528417) vacancy.
Please note this position is also being advertised as a Clinical Nurse Consultant - Head to Health Kids - CAMHS (528417d) and only one position will be filled on merit.

***

Our aim:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated professional to establish and lead the Head to Health Kids (for children aged 0-12 years) multidisciplinary team in North West Tasmania. The senior clinician will have a passion for working collaboratively with existing child and family services to deliver evidence based early interventions. The Clinical Lead will establish and lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver secondary level mental health assessment and intervention for infants, children, and their families and caregivers, experiencing emerging complexity regarding emotional, social, relational, and behavioural functioning.
As one of three pilot services, the Clinical Lead will play a key role in the creation of the first and foundational H2HK services in Tasmania, integrated with Child and Family Learning Centres (CFLCs) and other relevant child and family services, with a view for further expansion on successful implementation of the collaborative care model.

The role will:
  • Coordinate and plan the establishment of a regional Health to Head Kids (H2HK) Service
  • Oversee place-based operation of the North West H2HK Tas Service, operationally supported as part of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service
  • Facilitate extensive cross-agency and cross sector engagement, co-planning, and continuing service coordination and integration
  • Deliver a range of specialist and coordinated early interventions, in close partnership with the CFLC service setting, School Professional Support Services and other relevant services
  • Provide clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team.

What you will be creating:
The national H2HK initiative is being rolled out in Tasmania with three locations to be established in each region (South, North West, North) in partnership with existing CFLCs, DECYP Professional School Support Services and other relevant services. H2HK Tas will be an integrated secondary level mental health service for emerging complexity for 0-12 year age group and will represent an important addition to a child and family mental health stepped care model in Tasmania. This early intervention service will enable families to access a range of evidence based individual and group interventions and supports for mild to moderate emotional, behavioural, social, relational, and developmental challenges. The Head to Health Kids Tas service will work with families, and universal, secondary, and tertiary service providers, to provide integrated and holistic care.

The North West H2HK Tas Service will be operationally and clinically managed by CAMHS North West. It is being established in partnership with the Department of Education, Children and Young people, Burnie CFLCs, Professional Support Services, Child and Family Services, and will work closely with other government, non-government, and primary care programs and services.
