About the role
To recognise and act according to the Mission and Values of Calvary in providing spiritual, emotional and social support to patients, residents and clients, families and carers and staff as required. Pastoral care is provided as part of a multi-disciplinary approach to health, aged and community care, in a manner which respects the dignity of everyone. The service that Pastoral care provides is an expression of the Mission and Values of Calvary.
Your main duties will include:
Provide person centred pastoral care across all Calvary Launceston services
Respond appropriately to specific patient, resident, client and staff requirements through assessment of emotional and spiritual needs, effective prioritization and appropriate referrals to internal and external service
About you
Essential
Qualifications in counselling, psychology, education, social work, clinical pastoral education or pastoral ministry
Relevant experience providing high level emotional and spiritual care
Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise judgement on routine matters
Proven interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated organisational skills, including the ability to adapt to change, manage time effectively and prioritise tasks appropriately
Demonstrated ability to contribute to quality improvement activities, the evaluation of policies and procedures and delivery of internal education
Moderate to high level of computer literacy
Ability to work across all Calvary Launceston services.
Desirable
Tertiary qualifications in any of the above disciplines
Driver’s licence
Capacity to participate in an on call roster
