This position will provide high-level support to the Office in the communications, Parliamentary reporting activities, stakeholder engagement, corporate policy, and executive support.The Tasmanian Audit Office is seeking a motivated Communications Officer to join our small and dynamic Corporate Services team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and implementation of contemporary communication strategies, with a focus on online presence, media engagement, and internal communications. You’ll assist with our tabling of Auditor-General reports in parliament, coordinate client events and build relationships with our stakeholders.

This is a permanent role with a flexible and hybrid way of working. You will work in our office in Hobart and remotely from home.

Hours per fortnight
73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.
Duties
- Support the development and implementation of contemporary communication strategies, including online presence and media engagement.
- Support business units to write, coordinate and review content for a range of internal and external documents and publications, including creation of accessible digital content, newsletters, information sheets, presentation materials and other publications.
- Co-ordinate the Office’s Parliamentary reporting activities, including report design, quality assurance, production, tabling and distribution.
- Manage small or discreet corporate projects, or provide assistance to staff managing larger projects, applying project management principles to assist with the delivery of training, project implementation and other change management activities.
- Undertake research, provide recommendations and draft policy and procedure documentation, and maintain the Office’s policy register.
- Coordinate annual stakeholder meetings and client service assessment schedules, and provide high level executive support for the Auditor General and Senior Leadership Group.
- Supervise, coach and develop corporate support staff, providing advice and guidance and ensuring established procedures are applied and followed appropriately.

Performance is measured against Key Performance Indicators that are developed and agreed to for each role in the Office and documented in annual Performance Plans.
Pre-employment Checks

Desirable Requirements
- Project Officer qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Business administration or communications qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Office 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
- Driver’s Licence.
