Newly creaed role for a brand new facility.

The Chemical Engineer for the manufacturing and production will be a key member of the team. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence, providing operational and strategic advice, managing cross functional teams and optimising manufacturing and production processes. As an integral part of our team, working on assisting plant commissioning and projects in hazardous areas in this first of its kind facility for the organisation You will be responsible for specialising in the design and review of specifications related to process systems, report preparation, and providing technical guidance to the production leader. Your role will contribute to the safety and compliance of our facility, ensuring they meet industry standards and regulations
Responsibilities:

  • Oversee plant shift operations to ensure manufacturing/production efficiency, quality, safety and profitability for the global manufacturing organisation.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and Identify and mitigate potential operational and supply chain risks.
  • Implement best practices for quality control, safety, and sustainability in manufacturing processes.
  • Lead lean implementation and principles ensuring plants and regions are equipped with the tools, training, and resources for implementation.
  • Drive a culture of quality assurance and sustainability in manufacturing, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor key performance indicators related to manufacturing efficiency, quality and safety.
  • Prepares technical documentation, including P&ID's, PFD's, and conducts hydraulic calculations.
  • Designs and plan chemical process systems for use in applications, incorporating separation methods, material-specific testing, and safety considerations.
  • Participates in design reviews and Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPs) for the manufacturing plant
  • Prepares technical reports concerning Hazard Area classification and other facets of process safety
  • Establishes and nurtures relationships with clients.

Skills and Experienced Required:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Chemical, Industrial, Processing, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field with relevant work experience in these fields.
  • Strong technical (heavy industry chem/process/metallurgical engineering with good production or manufacturing experience
  • Experienced in operating chemical processing plants, metallurgical and/or mining processing plants.
  • Working knowledge and the understanding of processing and processing plant machinery and systems
  • Demonstrable record of successfully delivering long-term monitoring of performance, tracking of metrics, and of driving performance improvements to manage an efficient engineering and maintenance operations.
  • Strong experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Preferably with specialisation in Process, Safety and understanding of Hazardous Areas.
  • Resident of Australia or unrestricted rights to work in Australia.
