About this opportunity -

This is an exciting opportunity for a successful candidate to join us on 12 Month fixed term contract based in our Newcastle office.

The successful candidate will help to support the Senior HR Business Partner and HR Team in providing a comprehensive HR Business Partner Service to the group. The group has 30 branch offices split regionally, and this role has responsibility for Wealth Management, North and Central Regions.

Responsibilities Include -

  • Partner with business leaders to provide advice and counsel on all aspects of human resources including talent management, diversity, employee engagement, organizational design, and restructuring, change management, workforce management, leadership and employee development, performance management and rewards and recognition.
  • Act as a HR contact working closely with the business leaders and management teams to achieve full knowledge and understanding of business group plans and strategies and to ensure that HR strategies are aligned with those of the business. Ensure effective HR delivery to the business by working in partnership with the wider HR team (eg. COEs and share services) to proactively search out new HR approaches, methods, tools and technologies to enhance performance and support new or emerging business strategies.
  • Drive the implementation of organisation wide HR initiatives within business areas.
  • In partnership with Employee Relations and Legal, manage employee relations cases within the regions where appropriate.
  • Analyse Management Information to provide insights.
  • Drive activities to identify talent (especially high potential talent) deeper into the organisation.
  • Partner with business leaders in the planning, development and enablement of an agile, adaptable and highly competent workforce.
  • Provide advice and facilitate all family friendly initiatives e.g., maternity leave, shared parental leave and parental leave.
  • Support the D&I strategy through strategic, consultative advice and partnership to business leaders.
  • Create cultural momentum and leadership accountability to drive pace and outperform while fostering inclusion and belonging.

Skills/Experience -

  • An in-depth knowledge of current UK Employment Law and legislation is essential.
  • Proven experience in managing a wide range of Employee Relations issues.
  • Ability to assess potential problems and make sound judgements around issues that may have an adverse effect on the business from an Employee Relations perspective.
  • Experience of being the primary HR contact for client base
  • Sensitive people skills, a high level of emotional intelligence; excellent interpersonal skills; a wide understanding of people issues
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage own time effectively.
  • Ability to demonstrate presence & credibility within the organisation.
  • Willingness to work with and contribute to other areas of HR as appropriate.
