Our Exciting Opportunity

Ericsson Australia is currently searching for an established sales and engagement professional to join the team as an Account Manager. Based in Sydney, NSW, Australia, and collaborating with the VP Sales, you will be responsible for leading a multi-million dollar account, while working with an established team of senior sales and solution authorities.

You will be directly responsible for generating growth across an existing account which has a healthy and continually growing pipeline. Partnering with different contacts across the designated customer account, you will strategize new ways to expand business opportunities for the customer and Ericsson!

In this role, you would:

  • Strategise and lead engagements with our customer across our Network function virtualization and Cloud Native business
  • Take leadership on the opportunities and communication nurturing and growing customer contacts with detailed engagements
  • Create opportunity strategies, design engagement plans and continually confirm against the customers buying process as well as requirements
  • Lead the overall negotiation process in lock step with senior management and develop effective business proposals to present clients
  • Lead the development and delivery of presentations, proposals and tenders
  • Take ownership of the process to ensure successful closure of the opportunity and transition to delivery
  • Support the customer throughout the delivery period and constantly work with the Head of Service Delivery Manager to ensure the project is supervising as agreed to meet the customers' business challenges and targets
  • Manage stakeholders and reporting to ensure all internal and external stakeholders are fully briefed
  • Drive domain sales by working as Core team in lockstep with Senior management with business development and domain specific sales activities securing that Ericsson is perceived as a preferred partner
  • Work on a strategic level identifying leads and opportunities as well as taking the role of end-to-end accountability with the Domain Sales Manager and Technical solution lead in a specific engagements
  • Participate in setting strategic direction and scorecard measures
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of existing contracts and bring to bear the contracts to identify future sales growth opportunities
  • Be part of a team consisting of senior technical specialists from the engagement practice and competence domain to deliver company objectives
  • Analyse and understand individual customer/client needs and architect a solution in close collaboration with Domain Sales Mangers and Solution Managers to ensure that the customer engagement and or solution uniquely fits the customer needs to respond to the customer technical and or commercial challenges
  • Investigate details of new customer and/or products identified through market opportunities and/or business units

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Consistent track record to work collaboratively within virtual and global teams
  • Evidence of positive relationship building at Director-Level and below, building positive relationships with decision makers by developing an extensive understanding of the customer's overall business challenges and objectives
  • Solid understanding of the technology as well competitive landscape in the NFVi and Cloud Native industry
  • Solid background of meeting/exceeding targets with keeping yourself informed of the evolving business challenges, market trends, future technologies and information that may affect your customer's business
  • At least 5 years strong solution sales history and experience with NFVi (essential) and Cloud Native (crucial) technology solutions preferably from within the telco space (but not mandatory)
  • Demonstration of strong internal as well as external stakeholder management
  • Evidence of strong organisational skills
  • Completion of administration duties required to ensure successful account management
