About the role
Mater Education has an opportunity for highly motivated Diploma of Nursing- Educators to join us. Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Educators deliver education and training within the Registration Training Organisation and other related training courses on a permanent full time and part time basis. These roles will specifically teach clinical skills in simulation .
Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900
What you’ll be doing
The Educator is responsible for student management and accountable for ensuring excellence in educational outcomes within the resource constraints of the organisation and in the context of our mission and values.
This role is responsible for fulfilling the following accountabilities:
- Plan, prepare and deliver training according to program requirements including workplace, online or classroom, and/or a combination of each when they are scheduled.
- Provide flexible training and assessment strategies suited to the learning needs of individual students
- Deliver and assess participants within classroom, simulation and workplace experience environments.
- Maintain current professional development and competencies in the relevant industry, and apply to education delivery
- Evaluate and monitor student progress throughout the course, providing appropriate support as needed
- Manage assessment of student competence throughout the course, providing sufficient constructive feedback to promote positive outcomes
- Seek appropriate assistance if students have learning or literacy difficulties, or disabilities.
- Ensure all deliveries are fully compliant with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015 , CRICOS, or subsequent regulatory framework
- Use and maintain Mater Education’s equipment, facilities and resources in a professional and responsible manner
- Manage students administratively according to Mater Education’s procedures within the student management system (SMS) and learning management system (LMS)
- Attend and contribute to team meetings, open days, expos and information nights as required
- Engage in regular feedback with my manager in order to meet target performance expectations throughout the year
- Maintaining a professional development plan each year related to my areas of teaching as well as vocational education
- Provide a learning environment with minimal risk to staff and students by meeting Workplace Health and Safety benchmarks
- Actively participate in validation of assessments through the moderation process
- Undertake professional development to maintain currency in vocational and teaching practices and clinical expertise
- Promotes high standards of communication ensuring it is within professional, legal and ethical parameters
About you
In addition to the key skills criteria, you will also have:
Essential qualifications and experience for all educators
- Registered with AHPRA as Registered Nurse
- Current clinical experience within acute areas
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE)
- Experience in supporting and training students
- Current Drivers License
- Valid Police Check
