The Position

Are you looking for a family friendly and flexible work environment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Officer to join our maintenance team working a nine (9) day fortnight (Monday to Friday).

As the Maintenance Officer, you will be working with a team of tradespersons and apprentices and be responsible for providing maintenance support to the hospital by ensuring buildings, properties, major plant and equipment are adequately maintained to provide a safe environment for patients and staff. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of all principals and activities required to maintain property, assets, grounds and equipment is highly regarded.

An essential part of this role is the ability to carry out physically demanding duties such as lifting, pushing and pulling as well as general cleaning duties such as sweeping and vacuuming.

You will also be required to participate in a rotational roster for on-call hospital maintenance.

Key Selection Criteria for this position includes:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Trade Assistant or Maintenance Officer is required to be considered for the role, experience in a similar role is desired
  • Proven ability to support team members in a trades/maintenance environment
  • Be able to work effectively and efficiently within a team environment and autonomously
  • Current C class drivers’ licence (essential) & Current Construction White Card (essential)
  • Strong time management and daily planning skills
  • Solid communication skills and attention to detail

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) Requirements
It is a mandatory condition of employment that some roles within our hospital require you to be vaccinated, and remain vaccinated during your employment, against some or all of the following vaccine preventable diseases; Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping cough), and Hepatitis.
