In mid to late 2024, the NRMA will open a new accommodation development on the shores of the world-famous Mon Repos beach. The property will offer guests a unique nature-based experience with exclusive access to one of nature’s most amazing moments: turtles nesting in their natural environment. Guests will be able to stay in a range of accommodation overlooking the beach, including glamping tents, villas and camping sites. A range of resort style facilities and guided turtle tours ensure an unforgettable experience.

The vision is to create a year-round holiday destination offering a unique nature and cultural experience. From local Indigenous culture to seasonal Loggerhead nesting and hatching tours, stargazing, and more – this resort will be a haven for unforgettable experiences


Job Description


What you will do:

Commencing in May, you will have property pre-opening and recruiting experience in the hospitality industry, as you will become a part of the pre-opening team throughout this critical period of the development.

The resort will have a diverse range of new high-quality accommodation options, beachfront caravan sites, suitable food and beverage offerings, tropical landscaped gardens, a resort-style swimming pool, and concierge services.

Reporting to the Resort General Manager, you will assist to operate a profitable and sustainable eco-tourism and experience-based resort business, maximising a return on capital investment, whilst ensuring a consistent and amazing guest experience, in respect of the natural environment. Please note, that this is not a live onsite position

You will also:

  • Provide a versatile and hands-on approach to supporting your department heads to ensuring quality standards, effective communication and consistency across all areas of the resorts operation
  • Maintain leadership credibility in all areas of the park operation by exhibiting consistent high standards of personal ethics
  • Assist in ensuring teams are resourced accordingly and participating in recruitment activity as needed
  • Ensure that all employees receive a thorough park and department induction and sufficient on the job training
  • Liaise with the General Manager regarding significant maintenance issues, repairs and additional projects
  • Monitor and maintain a high standard of safety of all guests, visitors and employees

What you will bring:

  • You will have previous experience as an Operations Manager, Hotel Manager or Park Manager
  • A sincere passion for eco-tourism
  • Demonstrated experience in leading or overseeing teams
  • An ability to understand employment awards
  • You will demonstrate a flexible attitude to work and the passion to work as part of an operational team who are hands on, confident and have a passion for delivering outstanding guest service
  • You walk the talk and can communicate to team members, guests and stakeholders of all levels.
  • Previous experience in food and beverage, tour based, or eco-tourism related management is a bonus.
