About the role and where you will be working:

This position is responsible for preparing all financial and compliance reports, fulfilling the tax, statutory and regulatory reporting obligations. The role is also responsible for maintaining business as usual financial processes and controls of Southern Cross Care (WA) and its entities.

This position is located in our central office in Rivervale and offers a flexible working environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the preparation of the annual financial statements for SCC (WA) and related entities
  • Co-ordinate and manage the interim and annual audit including providing support for the compilation of the data required for Southern Cross Care (WA) Inc, Southern Cross Housing and managed sites.
  • Preparation of the annual impairment assessment to support year end processes.
  • Support an efficient month-end process in conjunction with the transactional and management accounting teams.
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet and reconciliations of banking and control accounts.
  • Coordinate the preparation and lodgement of GST, BAS, FBT, tax returns to ensure compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements.

About you:

In order to be successful in this role, you will have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role and a qualified accountant. Experience in Aged Care is ideal but not required.

To be considered for this role you’ll need:

  • Tertiary Accounting qualification.
  • Professional membership - Chartered Accountant or Certified Practicing Accountant or equivalent.
  • 5-8 years experience in a similar role in a commercial or not for profit organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience with the preparation of general purpose financial statements.
  • Demonstrated ability of maintain financial control and reconciliation records
