About the Role

Kickstart your Human Resources (HR) career and become an integral member of the HR function! This role is the glue that keeps all things together and is the first point of contact for managers and employees. You will provide efficient and effective administrative support across the People and Safety team and partner with stakeholders working to support the Marine Defence Sustainment programs.

What's going to keep you busy?

  • On-board new employees in a timely manner, ensuring that all documentation is received and processed in a timely manner, run HR inductions for all new starters and follow up where necessary to ensure an excellent onboarding experience for all of our employees;
  • Provide a dedicated high quality, customer focussed administrator and advisory service for all transactional HR queries through multiple channels, responding or escalating to others where needed such that all queries are managed and ultimately resolved in a timely manner;
  • Record and maintain information in HR Information Systems to contribute to the production of HR reports, data and metrics with a high level of integrity and accuracy;
  • Provide timely administration support relating to the full employee life cycle including issuing employment contracts, coordinating induction, processing employee changes and exit management;
  • Support and advise employees and managers on the application of HR policies and practices and use of HR systems.

Ideally you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources (or studies towards);
  • Significant experience in administration and delivery of a strong administrative support service;
  • Proven experience working with HRIS (preferably Success Factors), with high attention to detail and collate data to provide insights to support business decision-making;
  • Experience interpreting legislation, regulations, Awards and Industrial Agreements together with policy and procedure to provide high quality and pragmatic HR advice;
  • Excellent communication, consulting and interpersonal skills, proven ability in developing trusted business relationships at all levels to gain support and achieve outcomes.
