Ready to kick start your career in the mining industry? Gain valuable experience and earn a Certificate III in Resource Processing at one of Northern Stars renowned open pit gold mine operations whilst being trained up to be a successful Process Technician!
The role is on an 8 day on, 6 days off roster and will transition into a 8 days on, 6 days off / 8 nights on, 6 days off roster. Multiple positions are available across our Jundee, Thunderbox and Carosue Dam Operations.
As a Trainee Process Technician, you will be given the chance to learn on the job and be involved with all aspects of operating the processing plant, including, but not limited to:

Assisting in keeping the process plant running safely and efficiently within pre-determined process parameters and within pre-determined control limits

Ensuring the effective recovery of gold from ore processed whilst minimising costs (reagents, diesel, etc.)

Compiling production data as required

Conducting samples of the process to verify the grade of ore being processed (conveyors, leach tank, cyclones etc.)

Monitoring the process with sampling procedures to ensure targeted metallurgical recoveries are being met
No prior experience is required as full training will be provided; however, the following will be looked upon favourably:

Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
-
General understanding of the mining industry
-
Experience with FIFO
-
Current First Aid
-
Working knowledge of computers and the ability to maintain records

Excellent interpersonal communication skills are a must, as is a willingness to learn!

You must also be physically fit and hold a valid WA Drivers Licence.
