The Opportunity
Our Finance professionals play a key role in guiding critical business decisions and cutting-edge solutions for the world's leading aerospace company. We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Accountant / Finance Analystto support the P-8A Program. The P-8A Poseidon aircraft plays an important role in Australia's national security -providing maritime patrol and response services. Our ideal candidate will have relevant experience and knowledge regarding the principles, tools and procedures of project cost control and schedule management, and, demonstrated computer skills across a variety of platforms including Microsoft Office. Experience using Scheduling tools such as Open Plan and COBRA is preferred. You will also have strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
This role is based at RAAF Base Edinburgh.
As a Senior Project Accountant / Finance Analyst you will:
- Develop, analyze, review and maintain resource forecasts and/or Estimates at Completion (EACs) at the control account, budget, function or pool level; financial EACs at the contract or program level.
- Develop performance reports and initiates variance analyses to provide understanding of operational and financial performance.
- Develop and maintain cost and/or schedule performance measurement baselines, including earned value.
- Develop, analyze new proposals and contract changes
- Provide Finance decision making support to Project Managers and Cost Account Managers
- Responsible for recurring tasks such as invoicing, reconciliations, journals, and, maintenance of ERP in Oracle, and reporting to the Program, Business Unit and Customer
- Responsible for daily tasking of the Program's Project Accountant.
Experience/Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline is highly desirable (e.g. Accounting or Business Management).
- Previous Defence Industry experience is highly desirable
- Ability to deliver on time with high quality
- Financial modelling and analysis capability
- Familiarity with Open Plan and Cobra preferred
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications
