Description:
We are looking for a suitably qualified Accountant to join the team. You will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of Council’s financial, management and project accounting functions. This includes Council’s financial accounting, statutory reporting, grant acquittals and external audit obligations. The accountant will also lead the development and management of Council’s budget and assist in the Council’s corporate reporting.
The successful applicant will have:
- Advanced computer skills in particular, using financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Well-developed communication skills with the ability to relate to people at all levels and to influence where appropriate.
- Proven experience in the interpretation and application of accounting standards and experience and knowledge of taxation (Fringe Benefits and Goods & Services).
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and autonomously on specific projects, with a proven ability to problem solve, decision-making abilities with the ability to recommend workable solutions.
Qualifications required:
- A Bachelor of Accounting degree or equivalent and demonstrated experience in a diverse and commercial finance environment for a minimum of 5 years.
Position Hours: Full-Time, 75 hours fortnight.
Salary range: $86,617.84 to $97,486.31 plus superannuation
