Position profile
An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled and enthusiastic Consultant Paediatrician to work in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.
The hospital in question are looking for a Permanent doctor to commence work in 2022
This is a fixed term full time (80 hours per fortnight) appointment for up to 5 years.The position provides clinical service to the hospital of the Kimberley as well as outreach clinics in surrounding remote communities.
This position reports to and is supported by the Senior Medical Officer at each site.
Requirements FRACP.
Suitable candidates must be eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia AHPRA), possesses relevant qualifications and experience.
You should also have highly developed communication, interpersonal, teamwork, negotiation and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated commitment to teaching and research.
Overview of the Kimberley region
The Kimberley region of Western Australia is the State's most northern region. The coastline faces the Indian Ocean to the west, the region encompasses an area of around 420,000 square kilometres (one sixth of the State's total landmass) and is bordered by the Great Sandy Desert in the south and the Northern Territory in the east.
The Kimberley is almost twice the size of Victoria and three times that of the United Kingdom. The region includes arid desert areas, gorges, sandy beaches, escarpments, rainforests, waterfalls, vast open plains, river valleys and cave systems.
