We are currently seeking a Surface Water Operator to provide daytime and after hours support and response across Surface Water Operations sites, catchment areas and treatment facilities.
Based at the Harvey / Waroona WTP , this permanent opportunity will see you operate, monitor and maintain chemical and water treatment processes, inspect and maintain dam structures and outlet works, and conduct surveillance to ensure compliance with relevant business management processes and systems.
What’s involved?
Operation of water production and treatment processes to achieve required water quality and quantity.
Coordinate day-to-day optimisation of the treatment process including monitoring daily performance statistics, fault-finding and rectification.
Conduct process related activities including basic maintenance, sampling chemical use and site logistics activities.
Monitor scheme performance and liaise with staff and contractors to optimise production, maintenance and commissioning activities.
Participation in the team roster to provide afterhours support to surface water schemes to support 24x7’ operations and provide immediate incident management presence and control of incident sites
Inspect and maintain dam structures and outlet works in accordance with planned inspection and maintenance schedules.
Operate dam outlet structures, gates, valves and screens, inspect and maintain Public Recreation facilities and conduct routine after hour’s patrols and emergency contingencies.
Monitor and sample streams and reservoirs, perform surveillance of surface and ground water catchment areas and monitor land users and public recreation activities to ensure water quality protection.

Key skills and experience :
- Western Australian C Class and HR’ Class Drivers Licence
- Cert II or III in National Water Package (desirable)
- Dams Safety training (desirable)
- Experience with Chlorine, CSE or Fall prevention (desirable)
