About you:
In your new role you will…
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of appropriate legislative and policy-based information access mechanisms and their application in decision making.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of the relevant confidentiality requirements of the Hospital and Health Boards Act 2011 and the requirements of the Information Privacy Act 2009.
- Demonstrate ability to function autonomously and to set realistic work goals, objectives and establish priorities to meet statutory deadlines by utilising decision-making skills, technical skills and time management skills.
About your opportunity:
In this position you will be responsible for co-ordinating all requests received within the Information Access Unit and facilitating the appropriate correspondence to ensure that each request meets its legislative requirements and /or policy guidelines.
About your role:
- Act as the primary point of contact for release of patient information requests.
- Assume responsibility for issuing preliminary correspondence in accordance with the requirements of the Right to Information Act 2009 and the Information Privacy Act 2009 for all RTI / IP applications received within Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service.
- Supervise administrative support staff within the Information Access Unit, assisting with managing workloads and ensuring duties are completed efficiently and within timeframes for designated requests.
- Oversee the coordination and completion of requests from the Office of the State Coroner for urgent retrieval of patient records, and clinical information required for autopsies.
