Establish and maintain technology services to ensure reliable and secure platforms for the business to operate from.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
As the SysOps Engineer, you will be the system administrator for various platforms and cloud-based software. The SysOps Engineer also acts as the primary technical escalation point for Technology Service Desk requests, and supports end users in the development and delivery of technology solutions to ensure seamless delivery of core business functions.
You will:
  • deploy, automate, maintain, and manage cloud-based and on-prem services to ensure the availability, performance, scalability and security of systems
  • operate within applicable ITSM and Agile methodologies to successfully deploy and change the technology environment
  • implement and oversee monitoring tools, focused on ensuring health of services to meet SLAs
  • contribute to and lead the first principles approach to troubleshooting and problem solving including working with other teams to diagnose, resolve and remove the source of problems
  • contribute to architectural processes, acting as the solution SME for identified technologies
  • act as the primary escalation point for the Technology Service Desk, provide upskilling for juniors to improve service outcomes
  • facilitate vendor account and relationship management
  • ensure system security to ensure services are hardened and business appropriate.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
To be successful in the role of SysOps Engineer, you will be an IT generalist with the ability to multi-task and manage a variety of systems from Microsoft 365 to Intune. You will be an exceptional communicator with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships across the organisation and with external vendors. Ideally, you will have experience in a complex or regulated industry with exposure to monitoring and security platforms.
Your background will demonstrate your:
  • extensive experience in a similar SysOps Engineer role with knowledge working with public Cloud providers such as AWS, Azure & Microsoft 365
  • experience working within Microsoft technologies including: EntraAD, Intune, Office 365, and ADDS
  • experience instilling reliance to the environment through DR, backup, monitoring, alerting and failover capabilities to meet business SLAs
  • familiarity working with automating to drive consistency with scripting and configuration tools
  • familiarity with Okta, Meraki Cloud, Avepoint, Datadog, Airlock & Palo Alto platforms
  • strong customer facing and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • experience working in NIST, ISO, E8 governed environments (Desirable).
Ideally, you will have vendor certification (Azure / Microsoft 365) and a bachelor’s degree in technology, Computer Science, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
