The Parts Counter Sales position in our Charlestown, IN facility is responsible for providing our retail and installer customers with a high level of service. They also support management in the accomplishment of all assigned tasks, including maintaining inventory control, store appearance, and customer relations.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Greet and advise customers on the selection of products and their uses both in person and over the phone.
- Sell goods and services to accounts and prospects to support the overall goal of sustained growth.
- Develop over the phone, computer-based, and in-person customer service relationships.
- Continually grow technical, product, and application knowledge of parts essential to the heavy-duty vehicle aftermarket.
- Use of catalogs and parts manuals to identify and sell heavy duty trailer and truck parts.
- Suggest sale of related parts when identical replacements are not available.
- Keep current on new products and product updates and answer customer questions about products, prices, availability, and product features.
- Effectively communicate features, benefits, and warranty policy information to customers.
- Operate the point-of-sale system Karmak to search for parts and customer accounts.
- Pull and prepare inventory orders for customer pick up or delivery.
- Assist with inventory and processing of incoming stock.
- Assist service and leasing department with identification of parts.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Heavy duty service or automotive parts experience - Preferred
- Previous sales experience - Preferred
- Ability to provide outstanding, friendly, and professional customer service
- Ability to obtain a Chauffeur's License and DOT Medical Card if needed (company paid)
- Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) if needed (company paid)
- Basic computer & math skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs frequently.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally.
- Ability to lift up to 75lbs infrequently.
