About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Welder to join our growing team. This role will. Welding of aluminum components for new boats following design drawings and including welding schedules. Manufacture additional parts for new builds and refits. Complete maintenance on existing aluminum boats Manage all resources such as materials and co-workers to ensure all jobs are completed within required time frames and budgets to a quality.

In This Role You Will Be Responsible For

  • Undertake mechanical repairs and refurbishment including vessel docking.
  • Conduct regular planned mechanical maintenance and repairs.
  • Respond to equipment and vessel breakdowns in an appropriate time frame.
  • Complete Heavy Marine Diesel Engine Installations
  • Undertake Installations of different propulsion systems including single and twin screws and water jets
  • Ensure compliance with all HSE Policies & Procedures at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with industry and quality standards and operating procedures.
  • Support diverse marine fleet with your knowledge and experience.
  • Working both independently and as part of a team
  • New engine installation and fit ups new boat fit outs & rigging
  • Experienced in assembling constructional parts of the vessel.
  • Installation of marine systems including water makers, air conditioning systems and other onboard systems
  • Installation, inspection, repair, modification and reconditioning of watercraft, small engines and performs general engineering tasks.
  • Repair and maintain miscellaneous equipment including small engines, general service, and marine equipment.
  • Operate machines to produce or modify required parts or tools. Check quality of finished parts. Fit and assemble parts.

About You

Our ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Trade qualification in machining or fabrication (Highly Desirable)
  • 5 years trade experience in a similar role (Highly desirable)
  • Forklift License (Desirable)
  • Elevated Work Platform (Desirable)
  • Confined Space Entry (Desirable)
  • Dogging and Rigging (Desirable) Can work within a team.
  • Can work unsupervised.
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Meet strict deadlines.
  • Sound time management and people skills.

Salary: $68,000 -$80,000
